Backend Developer

About the Role:

Webz.io is looking for a Backend developer  to join our engineering team, taking a key role in designing and scaling both our core data collection systems and our high-throughput ingestion pipelines.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Develop, scale, and maintain the collection systems and high-throughput ingestion architecture. 
• Design and implement robust backend services, microservices, and feature enhancements using both Java and Python. 
• Build and optimize scalable data pipelines handling massive volumes of data from various sources through to downstream storage and indexing.
•  Troubleshoot, monitor, and test core product software, message brokers, and distributed databases to ensure healthy functionality, identify bugs, and ensure proactive resolution.
• Implement architectural optimizations to enhance system efficiency, low latency, reliability, and scalability across multi-cloud environments. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design resilient system architectures, and deliver high-impact production solutions.

What You Should Have for the Role:

• 4+ years of backend software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) and Python.
• Proven track record of building, scaling, and maintaining high-throughput microservices, data pipelines, and distributed architectures.
• Extensive experience with high-throughput message brokers (e.g., Apache Pulsar, Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Solid hands-on experience with relational, distributed, and non-relational databases (e.g., TiDB, Elasticsearch, MySQL, Redis, Galera).
• Strong experience working in public cloud environments (e.g., AWS, OCI), Linux operating systems, and web infrastructure (HTTP, APIs, crawling mechanisms).
• A people-oriented team player with strong soft skills, creative problem-solving, task prioritization, and fluent English (written and spoken).
